Following codes and Conventions
Title Graphics
We have followed conventions when it came to creating the tile graphics for 'A City Of Shelter' through looking at existing documentary title graphics, which follow the same/similar genre to our film.
Our documentary also follows the way in which documentaries use title graphics through out the trailer as it provides the audience with a more detailed understanding and including graphics to make the documentary much more interesting. The title graphics and graphics used through out the film match and is related to the theme.
Here we used title graphics that present 'Sheffield England' at the beginning of our film as it sets the location and understanding for the audience. While also relating to the shot and representation of the city.
Again, we used title graphics for our interview with a homeless feature to ensure it was clear and understandable for the reader through matching the text with the actors speech. We also kept our title graphics colour theme and font consistent making much more aesthetically pleasing for the audience.
To create a much more documentary style film we presented a visual representation of the narration on the growing issue of homelessness. We found this a common feature on documentaries based on different subjects as it presents visually presents the issue in a graph form. Also, it makes the documentary much more understandable for the audience.
Through looking at the film 'Shelter: A look at Manchester's homeless'. We have successfully followed conventions on what our theme is and how we have portrayed homelessness in a specific city. The film we watched allowed us to understand how a city should be captured when presenting homelessness.

Here is an example of the representation of homelessness in Sheffield. We have featured homeless people while making it obvious It is based on the homelessness specifically on Sheffield.

Also, 'A look at Manchester's homeless' presented the city and it features to ensure people are aware of the location and where the issue is.
We have successfully achieved our portrayal of Sheffield and made our representation obvious to viewers where the issue is in terms of location. Making it easily recognisable to our target audience.
The representation of homeless people featured in the film allowed our audience to understand what our documentary is based on. Several different representation of the homeless were featured in our film just show the audience how bad the situation is and encourage people to want to go out and help or improve the situation which is our overall aim of the documentary.
